Yesterday’s biggest story: Spain 0-0 Cape Verde, FIFA #2 held by FIFA #68 - the upset of the group stage so far. Both Ella and Sophie banked a point from the inter-couple fixture; a good day for that household. Henry’s Saudi Arabia earned a point off Nichola’s Uruguay, and Pete’s Belgium drew with Ella’s Egypt. This morning, Nichola’s Iran and Tega’s New Zealand shared the spoils 2-2.

The table reads gently. Richard leads on seven with Argentina yet to come. Nichola is second on the back of that emphatic Sweden 5-1. Tega sits third but tops the goals for (11) and goal difference (+5) charts thanks to Germany 7-1. Sophie holds joint-fifth - Australia 2-0 over Türkiye is her standout. Ella sits in the same cluster after USA’s 4-1 demolition of Paraguay. Emily has Brazil, Japan and Ivory Coast all on the board. Pete’s South Korea 2-1 over Czechia is his anchor. Henry climbs to two; England, his tier-1 pick, is still to come.
