Richard's lead grows, Tega and Emily climb

Yesterday saw Richard’s Mexico edge Pete’s South Korea 1-0, then Tega’s Morocco beat Richard’s Scotland 1-0 - the first time someone has taken points off Richard’s portfolio. Ella’s USA beat Sophie’s Australia 2-0 to close the day, settling the sixth intra-couple match in the Ella/Sophie household 1-0 to Ella.

This morning, Emily’s Brazil thumped Ella’s Haiti 3-0, moving Emily up to third on 11 points - her first big win of the tournament. Richard’s Paraguay then beat Henry’s Türkiye 1-0, his first since the loss to USA.

The table reshuffles: Richard 22, Tega 12, Emily 11, Henry/Nichola/ Pete on 9, Ella 8, Sophie 6. Henry banks the Saudi point on a 1-1 draw; Nichola’s Sweden is in action tonight off the back of their 5-1; Sophie sits bottom on GD but Algeria, Portugal and Cape Verde all still have matches to come.

Today’s other games: Germany v Ivory Coast is Tega’s tier-2 against Emily’s tier-4. Netherlands v Sweden is Pete’s tier-1 against Nichola’s tier-4.
